Boredom Hell Loses Sunday: Weekend Saved! This weekend was going to be the Total Weekend Spent in Boredom Hell, where I would star as the the character voted Most Likely to be Depressed. Friday's melodrama started off with an uplifting bang. I was determined to "get away" as I put it at dinner, and I would be requiring The Car. I made a few phone calls.
But since the weekend had been predetermined by supersonic forces, I was not to succeed in "get[ing] away." Yet I did not know this at the time. I still had hope.
By nine o'clock it was too late to get very far and I was tired and grumpy. I went to bed at ten'oclock on a Friday. Day One of Weekend Boredom Hell: Success! Waiting is the ultimate punishment of the Boredom Hells.
Day two: Already dejected because I lost my hope, I slept in. Finally I tore my bed ridden body from the bed around noon to face the day. I became chauffer for Mother who had decided to join the Red Hat Ladies (a cult for older women that I suspect might be involved in pyramid schemes) More on that one later.
After an exciting chauffer marathon of about three blocks, I find myself back home pacing the house. What to do? I couldn't stop thinking about what I could've been doing had it not been for--
Boredom Hell claimed Saturday as well. And just when I was about to give in to being voted Most Likely to be Depressed, Betsy called! YAY! An impromptu BBQ was arranged for Sunday and my spirits were awakened. No longer did Boredom Hell reign in my weekend. Oh no. I beat its ass out the door. No one needs a donkey on a Sunday. The votes were in and I "g[o]t away" just in the nick of time.
