Interview I have a working interrview with a marketing company i found online through a job agent such as monster.com. The company is called Greenwich Marketing Partners. And it's odd to say the least, but trying to find out about their company has been a little disappointing. First of all they have no official company website. I can't find out who they are affiliated with. All searches lead to the many jobs for marketing they have open now. $24,000 to $40,000 a year, at entry level! Become a manager of their many fortune 500 accounts. They'll teach you how to meet the client face to face. Communication. Marketing strategies. Sales techniques. Oversee campaign development. Manage customer service. Run sales meetings. Delegate responsibilities to subordinates. This all sounds good. I think. It sounds professional. Convincing. But who are they trying to convince? Who are they speaking to. Why me? Right?
What really gets me is: "Applicant must have little to no marketing and advertising experience. (entry level only)" I'm totally that, don't get me wrong. But I went in for the "interview" which turned out to be a screening interview of "about 15 other people" for 2 jobs to be filled ASAP. Now I was chosen to be 1 of 3 to come in for a working interview to see what its all about, take notes etc. Then have another meeting later on that night to recap what I've learned and I suppose what I think I want to do.
Now, I'm dubious already. Actually I kind of was way before I ever set foot inside. But then I figured they could weed out the scared little mice like me to get to the ones they want. Why else a screening interview? I'm not trying to be so hard on myself, but believe me, i think I didn't do that hot at the initial -whatever. But they called me back. My parents and friends seemingly feeling the same dubification sort of propell me into almost wondering if they chose the "3" who could most likely be coerced into being scammed or exploited.
Something funny: I used the word PLUMMET when he asked me a question about whats happening to a company when it has no customers or somesuch like that. And I'm like something blah blah and in context the word PLUMMET. He told me it was too big of a word. Like, "WOA, let's not be hasty! Too big of words for a screening interview of people who have no experience in the field whatsoever! SLOW DOWN!"
I'm seriously more of a thinker person. In retrospect. I'll come back to something that I encountered over and over and pick it a part and what I coulda, should, woulda, but didnt because when someones staring me in the face speaking a mile a minute and throws in a fast ball question, me on my toes is like me stuck in a spider web. I'm the kid who thinks of the greatest come-backs weeks later.
But then who's to say this isn't a ligit company. New. Young. Like they say. No time for a website. They say they have no real competition because well, what do they even do? I do not know. young, so yes it's feasible that the amount of open jobs up and down the coast is because they are growing. And fast. They need people now. So. It's harder to think of them that way, because I'm scared and I don't really want a new job now, but I kinda sorta need one, but. Yeah. BUT.
SO HELP ME OUT. If you know anything about this company: Greenwich Marketing Partners. Please do tell. Here's what I found: The ad I applied to |
